Brook & Bull Cellars is Ashley Trout’s latest winery and is a return to her roots of varietal driven, nuanced, and intricately balanced wines. Sourcing from top vineyard sites, Ashley crafts wines that reflect her palate and can be appreciated now or aged over the next decade. Whether it’s conversation or dinner, these wines will undoubtedly pair well.

Brook & Bull wines are hand-crafted from vine to bottle, made with small fruit lots sourced from carefully tended vineyards . From alcohol to acid, phenolics to tannin, balance is always our goal. Our reds tend to age nicely through year eight, while whites and rosés trend closer to the three to four-year mark.

We are a 2,000-case winery located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Walla Walla Valley, situated on the famed Southside in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. With sweeping views, vineyard vistas and hugged by historic wheat fields, our tasting room is a lovely spot to spend the afternoon. The long days, never-ending sunsets, and cool nights that grace this gorgeous land lend themselves to both legendary grape growing as well as an amazing experience sipping wine on our patio. Formally March Cellars, Brook & Bull has been producing wine since 2014. Ashley has been an integral part of the Washington wine community since the 90’s, working at a variety of locations in Walla Walla and South America. This is her third winery. Brook & Bull is the latest and greatest.

Ashley Trout, Owner/Winemaker

Ashley began her wine making career at 18, following her passions around the world in search of the best ways to combine a love of wine making with a goal for community betterment. She spent the better part of a decade working harvests in Mendoza, Argentina and has been an integral part of the Walla Walla Valley wine scene since 1999.

After an eight year stint at Reininger Winery, she began Flying Trout Wines in 2006 where she focused exclusively on malbec and malbec driven blends. She sold Flying Trout in 2010, staying on as winemaker for another five years with a one-year hiatus to be with her two young children. In 2016 she launched Vital Wines and March Cellars (now known as Brook & Bull).
