Grosgrain Vineyards was founded in 2018 with a focus on light, fresh and restrained styles of wine, whether it be white, red or sparkling. Acid-driven concrete and amphora fermented whites, elegant site-specific explorations of Grenache, old-style Bordeaux blends from hillside fruit, and both pét nat and traditional method sparkling wines are at the heart of our lineup. We are currently developing two sustainably farmed vineyards in Walla Walla to help drive our style from the ground up and are cultivating many grape varieties that are new to our region.

Matt & Kelly Austin

In 2014, Matt and Kelly Austin left their careers in law and fashion design for a new life in the Pacific Northwest, seeking a place in the wine industry. After Matt returned to school to study enology and spent time working with several Washington wineries, they stumbled upon a small vineyard on the Southside of Walla Walla.

Planted with uncommon Italian varieties, these 5 acres became Grosgrain Vineyards, a wine company dedicated to championing underdog grapes, sparkling wines, low intervention winemaking, and sustainable farming practices.
