Freewater Rocks Vineyard, established in 2008 by Dana Dibble, a third-generation orchardist and viticulturist, spans the unique terroir of the Rocks District. Dana's expertise and dedication are deeply rooted in his grandfather's land, where he began planting River Rocks Vineyards for the family in 2000. His hard work and grit have led him to plant and manage six vineyards over the years, including Freewater Rocks Vineyard, which he personally farms along with his orchards. Dana also provides invaluable expertise to other vineyards throughout the valley.
The vineyard is planted with a diverse array of varietals including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Cinsault, and Viognier. This selection of grapes has produced award-winning vintages that showcase the distinctive character of the Rocks District.
