It is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, French clone 337, which is more dense and less herbal than traditional Cabernet clones like 6,7,and 8.

Broken Plow vineyard is the last 2.5 acres of what was once an 8 acre farm in the 1870’s. Over the years this farm has been planted to tree fruit, tomatoes, melons, and other annual crops. Our first harvest of wine grapes was in 2016.

It is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, French clone 337, which is more dense and less herbal than traditional Cabernet clones like 6,7,and 8. Of course The Rocks District does for Cabernet just like it does for Syrah.

We call this property “Broken Plow Vineyard” because this land has been farmed since 1872 and the rocks have broken more than one plow.
